‘Malgudi Days’ comes alive at Genesis Global School’s 13th annual day celebration

NOIDA: Genesis Global School in Noida marked its 13th Annual Day with a celebration themed around Malgudi Days, the classic work of Indian author RK Narayan. Held in honour of India’s cultural heritage, the event featured skits, dances, and storytelling inspired by Narayan’s well-loved characters, including Swami and his friends. Renowned educationist Dr A Sankara Reddy, a Padma Shri recipient, was the guest of honour at the event.
The Annual Day featured over 250 students participating in performances that brought to life the charm of Malgudi, with scenes reflecting rural Indian life, simple joys, and timeless values. Students presented skits and character sketches of popular stories, engaging the audience through narratives from Malgudi Days and showcasing traditional Indian values such as honesty and resilience.
As part of the festivities, the school also focused on charity, welcoming guests from local institutions, including Bal Vikas School and Aangan Old Age Home. Genesis students collected and distributed items like snacks, shawls, and baby food to these attendees in a bid to make the Diwali season brighter.
The celebration was part of Genesis Global School’s larger commitment to community-centric education, blending academic and social initiatives to broaden students’ perspectives.
