There were chaotic scenes in Mumbai on Wednesday evening as heavy rain lashed the city after the weather department issued a red alert earlier in the day. Due to heavy rain, several roads were severely waterlogged, bringing vehicular traffic to a standstill.
Visuals from Parel and Matunga showed that due to waterlogged roads, vehicular movement virtually stopped after rain pounded the city for about 4 to 5 hours.
Also, Mumbai’s local train services were also affected as railway tracks were inundated after the downpour with thousands of passengers waiting at station platforms.
