Today, Veidekke has signed a contract with Fornebubanen to build the new metro stations at Lysaker and Vækerø. The commission is an execution contract valued at close to NOK 1.8 billion excluding VAT.
“We appreciate the confidence Fornebubanen has shown in us and are looking forward to carrying out yet another large and socially important mission together. Building good and environmentally friendly transport solutions that are important to the population of the Oslo area is something we really appreciate doing,” says Director Neal Nordahl with Veidekke Anlegg.
The commission to build the two underground stations involves extensive concrete and platform work. In addition, the construction of an access building and technical installations such as escalators, lifts and technical rooms are included. Landscaping in the station areas is also part of the contract.
“This is a major milestone for Fornebubanen. Construction of the new metro stations at Lysaker and Vækerø are important steps on the way to a new metro service that will benefit both residents and visitors to Oslo and Akershus. Veidekke submitted the best tender in terms of price, environment and quality, and we are looking forward to professional cooperation with their competent team,” says Irene Måsøval, Director of Fornebubanen.
Construction work is set to start in February 2025 with completion in the summer of 2028. More about Fornebubanen here.
