Senop together with the Swedish and Finnish military procurement agencies has signed a framework agreement concerning the procurement of military optronics. The combined framework agreement enables a fast and cost-effective way of acquiring combat enhancing optronic capabilities for both countries.

The framework agreement was signed on November 6, 2024 in Helsinki by the Chief of the Defence Forces Logistics Command, Brigadier General Tero Ylitalo, Director of the Command and Information Systems Division of the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, Rebecca Ihrfors and President of Senop Oy Aki Korhonen

According to Aki Korhonen, President of Senop Oy, this framework agreement is an excellent example of close bilateral defence cooperation between Finland and Sweden. Korhonen continues that the agreement creates the conditions for the development of the countries’ defense forces’ closer interoperability and security of supply. This in turn supports our continuous development of high-technology solutions.

Previously this year the FDF and Senop have signed a letter of intent in accordance with which Finland will procure more NVGs and new night vision technology.

The optronic procurement cooperation between Finland and Sweden is a continuum of an executive agreement, with the intention of increasing mutual defence resilience and bringing cost benefits in optronic acquirements.
