Actor Rakul Preet Singh, who recently attended IIFA 2024 in Abu Dhabi, was asked about the allegations of non-payment of dues by her father-in-law, film producer Vashu Bhagnani. The film producer, under his production company Pooja Entertainment, allegedly failed to clear the dues of the crew of his 2024 film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

On the red carpet of IIFA 2024, Rakul was speaking to the media when she was asked to comment on the allegations against Vashu. The actor refrained from answering the question and walked away mid-interview after saying “sorry.” For the awards night, Rakul was dressed in a green bodycon dress.

Vashu Bhagnani and his production house, Pooja Entertainment, came under scrutiny after the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) released a statement, sharing that the producer owes money to people who worked on three of his films: Mission Raniganj, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan director Ali Abbas Zafar also claimed that he was not paid his fees by the production company.

In response, Bhagnani filed a 17-page police complaint against Ali, claiming “criminal conspiracy” and “misappropriation of funds.” However, the crew of Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan supported the director, claiming that even they are yet to receive their fees for the film.

Actor Ronit Roy, who was part of the action-thriller, also recently shared that he managed to get his full payment for the film because of the intervention of Ali Abbas Zafar’s close aide.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was released in theaters in April this year. However, the film tanked at the box office after receiving negative reviews from critics and audiences.
