Ola S1 Pro Sona unveiled, 4,000 Ola stores to open on December 25

Electric two-wheeler manufacturer Ola Electric on Saturday (Dec 21), unveiled a limited Sona edition of its S1 Pro, with 24-karat pure gold elements.

Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal announced in a tweet that the company will expand its network to 4,000 stores nationwide by December 25. He further said that to mark the moment, Ola is bringing the Sona edition of the S1 Pro. “Visit any Ola store on December 25 and you can win the Ola S1 Pro ‘Sona,’ many to be won,” Bhavish tweeted.

According to Ola’s official website, Ola is hosting a contest, offering participants a chance to win the limited edition S1 Pro Sona.

The design of the Sona edition closely mirrors the S1 Pro, but it stands out with authentic 24K gold plating on various parts, including the front brake levers, pillion grab rail, footpegs, and side stand. Additionally, it features gold-finished “OLA” lettering and a Sona badge engraved in Hindi. The S1 Pro Sona features an exclusive dual-tone white and gold colour scheme.

The S1 Pro (Gen 2) is priced at Rs 1,28,999 (ex-showroom). The electric scooter has a claimed range of 195km and a top speed of 120km/h. The S1 Pro has an 11Kw motor and Ola claims that it can accelerate from 0-40 in 2.6 seconds.

Ola S1 Pro ‘Sona’ edition

The S1 Pro boasts a range of advanced features, including a digital key with lock/unlock functionality, multiple riding modes, cruise control, navigation with Ola maps, 34-litre boot space, auto-turn off indicator, hill hold, and a scooter reverse mode.

On October 7, the company received a show cause notice from the Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) for alleged violations of consumer rights, misleading advertisements, and unfair trade practices. Ola was given 15 days to respond to the notice.

In a regulatory filing dated October 21, Ola stated, “In continuation to our letter dated October 7, 2024, regarding the intimation to the stock exchanges about the show cause notice received by the company from CCPA, we would further wish to inform you that the company has provided the requested information and clarifications in response to the show cause notice today to CCPA.”

“We wish to reiterate that Ola Electric has a robust mechanism to address complaints raised with respect to our vehicles. In fact, we wish to emphasise that out of 10,644 complaints that we received from CCPA, 99.1% of the complaints were resolved to the complete satisfaction of the customer as per Ola Electric’s robust redressal mechanism,” Ola said.
