NEET PG 2024 Counselling: The long wait for NEET PG aspirants regarding the counselling schedule may soon be over. According to the United Doctors Front Association (UDFA), which has been in discussions with officials from the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and the Ministry of Health, the tentative NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule is expected to be announced within the next two to three days.
Dr Lakshya Mittal, National President of UDFA, shared this update on X (formerly Twitter), urging aspirants to stay tuned for the official announcement. However, there is no official confirmation yet whether the schedule will be released on October 16.
“As per discussions with MCC and Health Ministry officials, the NEET PG 2024 tentative counselling schedule is expected to be updated within the next 2-3 days. We urge all aspirants to stay tuned for further updates,” said Dr. Lakshya Mittal, National President of UDFA, via a social media post.
The counselling process has been delayed in six states, including Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan, due to the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) withholding NEET PG raw marks. Additionally, the NEET PG cut-off for 2024 was not published alongside the results, causing further concern.
A group of 19 candidates has petitioned the Supreme Court, seeking transparency in the exam process. They have asked the court to direct NBEMS to release the NEET PG answer key and details of the normalisation method used. The next Supreme Court hearing on the matter is scheduled for October 25.
The NEET PG exam 2024 was conducted on August 11, with results declared on August 23. Candidates are vying for thousands of postgraduate medical seats across India, including MD, MS, PG Diploma, and DNB CET programmes.
