The Mahayuti alliance is likely to return to power for a second term, with exit polls predicting anywhere between 150–195 seats for the coalition. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi, which punched above its weight to spring a surprise in the Lok Sabha polls in Maharashtra, will bag 85–130 seats, according to exit polls. In Maharashtra, which has 288 Assembly seats, the halfway mark is 145 seats.

However, past elections have shown that exit polls often get it wrong, and the numbers must be taken with a pinch of salt.
