Following the arrest of Allu Arjun, Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) came to the National Award winning actor’s defence and said it was the “pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers”.
Writing a scathing note on X, KTR said that while he sympathised with the “victims of the stampede”, he condemned the “high-handed behaviour” of the state government.
Arrest of National Award winning star Allu Arjun is the pinnacle of insecurity of the rulers!
I totally sympathize with the victims of the stampede but who failed really?
Treating @alluarjun Garu as a common criminal is uncalled for especially for something he isn’t directly… pic.twitter.com/S1da96atYa

The Telugu superstar was arrested on Friday, December 13, in connection with the stampede that occurred at the premiere of the sequel ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’ at the iconic Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad.
The stampede on December 4 left a 39-year-old woman dead and her minor son critically injured.
On Friday afternoon, Hyderabad police officials arrived at the National Award winning actor’s house, took him and his personal bodyguard into custody amid tight security.
According to the authorities, fans thronged in unmanageable numbers to the venue in an attempt to enter the theatre for a chance to see the actor. The police said the stampede occurred due to insufficient crowd management measures because they were not informed of Pushpa 2 team attending the event.
