India’s largest SUV manufacturer, Mahindra & Mahindra, will unveil two new battery electric vehicles (BEVs), the XEV 9e and the BE 6e, on November 26. Built on the electric-origin INGLO architecture, both models will be launched in early 2025.

Mahindra’s INGLO architecture uses electric components from Volkswagen’s modular electric drive matrix (MEB). Based on electric-first principles, INGLO will create a purpose-built platform for the next-generation Mahindra BEVs.

Here are key details about INGLO architecture.

Mahindra INGLO: Flat-floor design

Mahindra claimed that the electric origin philosophy allows INGLO to feature one of the industry’s lightest flat-floor skateboard structures, paired with high-density battery technology. This architecture maximizes cabin space, eliminating the central tunnel. Designed with modularity and scalability, this architecture will supports diverse models, from the BE 6e to XEV 9e.

Mahindra INGLO: Battery efficiency and fast charging

Mahindra will offer LFP battery options of 59kWh and 79kWh with INGLO. The INGLO-based models will have fast-charging capabilities, allowing charge from 20%-80% in merely 20 minutes (with 175kW DC charger).

Mahindra INGLO: Safety and stability

By placing the battery at a low center of gravity, INGLO is claimed to enhance both stability and handling. With an advanced structural design, the battery pack will be integrated into the BEV’s underbody, creating a protective cage around the passenger cabin. Ultra-high-strength boron steel and reinforced frontal structures will ensure safety.

Mahindra INGLO: Performance

Mahindra claimed that INGLO’s reduced underbody weight makes it one of the lightest skateboard platforms in the EV market. A compact three-in-one powertrain, integrating motor, inverter, and transmission, will offer enhanced performance, with outputs of 170-210 kW for rear-wheel drives.

Mahindra INGLO: Vehicle dynamics

INGLO is claimed to integrate a semi-active suspension system, high-power steering, and brake-by-wire technology. The INGLO-based BEVs will have multiple drive modes.
