India Women name squads for West Indies ODIs, T20Is, Nandini Kashyap earns call-up

India have called up hard-hitting batter Nandini Kashyap and youngester Raghvi Bisht for the upcoming T20I series against the West Indies. 21-year-old Kashyap was stupendous for India E in the Senior Womens T20 Challenger Trophy in which she scored 332 runs from five matches at an average of 83 and a strike-rate of 137.19 with four fifties and a top score of 94.

In the same tournament, 20-year-old Bisht scored 162 runs from five games for Team E at an average of 40.50. Bisht was also a part of the India A squad on their tour of Australia. Yastika Bhatia, Shreyanka Patil and Priya Punia missed out due to injuries. Punia missed the third ODI against the Aussies after injuring her left knee during the second game.

Among the big names, Shafali Verma and Arundhati Reddy missed out. Shafali also missed the tour of Australia after her lacklustre performance in the Women’s T20 World Cup.

In the ODI squad announced by the BCCI, young batter Pratika Rawal, who has had an impressive run in the Senior Women’s One-Day Trophy. In eight matches for Delhi, she has scored 411 runs at an average of 68.50 with two centuries, two half-centuries and a top score of 141 to her name.

India’s T20I series is scheduled to take place from December 15 to 19 at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara will host the ODI series from December 22 to 27.
