The MG Windsor EV has taken the electric car market by storm. Launched in India in September, it emerged as the best-selling electric car in the country in October. Continuing its robust form, it was again the top-selling electric model in November.

JSW MG Motor sold 3,116 units of the MG Windsor EV in October. The sales were higher in November at 3,144 units.

According to JSW MG Motor, the Windsor EV had a share of over 30% in the electric car segment in November.

JSW MG Motor recorded sales of 6,019 units in November with a contribution of 70% from the new energy vehicle (NEV) portfolio, including the Comet EV, ZS EV and Windsor EV.

The MG Windsor EV has three variants — Excite, Exclusive and Essence. Below are their prices (ex-showroom).

  • Excite – Rs 13.50 lakh
  • Exclusive – Rs 14.50 lakh
  • Essence – Rs 15.50 lakh

If you do not want to pay the above-mentioned price, you can have the MG Windsor EV under the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model for Rs 9.99 lakh + Rs 3.5 per kilometre battery rental.

At the heart of the Windsor EV is a 136PS/200Nm permanent magnet synchronous motor paired with an IP67-rated 38kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery. There are four driving modes — Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport.

Although the MG Windsor EV is a handsome package, the only downside is its range, which is claimed to be relatively lower at 332km (ARAI-certified) on a single full charge.

However, one good thing is that JSW MG Motor is offering free charging at public chargers through eHUB by MG app to Windsor EV owners for one year. Additionally, the electric car has a 3-60 assured buyback plan, which ensures that the vehicle has 60% of its value after three years or 45,000 kilometres.

In terms of features, the MG Windsor EV boasts LED lights, flush door handles, 18-inch alloy wheels, aero-lounge seats, front ventilated seats, 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, PM 2.5 filter, powered tailgate, and panoramic sunroof. The rear seat has a 60:40 split with a 135-degree recline angle. With iSmart connectivity technology, you get over 80 connected features.
