A cinema hall in Chhattisgarh’s Bhilai lost Rs 1.34 lakh, the entire earnings it made after screening actor Allu Arjun-starrer ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule’. Two robbers looted the money from Mukta Art-2 cinema hall, and also took away the DVD of the CCTV footage.
The men entered the cinema hall, attacked the security guard on duty, and locked him in a room. They then took the keys to the locker and stole Rs 60,000 from one locker while taking the other one along before fleeing the scene.
The robbery was discovered the next morning when the theatre staff arrived and informed the manager and the owner.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Sukh Nandan Rathore confirmed that a robbery complaint had been registered.
“Talkies manager Deepak Kumar has provided the CCTV footage which shows the two young men. We have also questioned security guard Nohar Devangan,” Rathore said.
The police conducted an inspection and were able to find broken camera footage. With the help of experts, the police were able to stitch the recording, through which they were able to see two men entering the theatre on the night of the robbery.
The investigation is underway.
