The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta is set to conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 tomorrow, November 24, 2024. Thousands of aspirants will appear for one of India’s most competitive management entrance exams. The CAT 2024 examination will take place in three shifts across multiple examination centers nationwide. Candidates registered for the exam must carry their CAT 2024 admit card to the exam center, as entry into the examination hall will not be permitted without it.

Candidates will earn three marks for each correct answer, while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response.

However, non-MCQ questions do not have negative marking. The Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC) section carries the highest weightage, with 24 questions worth 72 marks to be completed in 40 minutes.
CAT 2024: Examination Timings
The CAT 2024 exam will be conducted in three slots:
- Slot 1: 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM
- Slot 2: 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM
- Slot 3: 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM
CAT 2024: What to Carry on Exam Day
Candidates appearing for CAT 2024 must carry the following items to the examination center:
- CAT 2024 Admit Card: Download and print your CAT 2024 admit card from the official website. Entry to the examination center is strictly prohibited without it.
- Valid Photo ID Proof: Carry a valid photo ID such as Aadhaar Card, Driving License, Passport, or Voter ID.
- Scribe Affidavit and Medical Certificate (if applicable): Candidates requiring assistance must bring a supporting affidavit or medical certificate to validate their need.
- Other Required Documents: Ensure you carry any additional documents specified in the exam instructions.
CAT 2024: Barred Items
The following items are prohibited at the examination center:
- Mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, or other electronic gadgets
- Calculators, wristwatches, and pouches containing stationery
- Bags, shoes, and caps
- Clothing with large pockets or jewelry (bracelets, earrings, rings, etc.)
Candidates may be asked to remove these items before entering the examination hall.
CAT 2024: Dress Code
Candidates are advised to adhere to the CAT 2024 dress code:
- Wear simple attire without accessories like jewelry or fancy items.
- Avoid shoes; opt for sandals or slippers instead.
- Clothes with large pockets are not allowed.
CAT 2024: Additional Guidelines
- Arrive at the examination center at least one hour before the gate closes.
- Keep all required documents handy for quick verification.
- Mark your attendance when instructed.
- After the exam, submit your signed admit card to the invigilator.
- Refrain from requesting breaks during the exam unless for a medical emergency.
