Two men were found dead in a caravan parked on the roadside near Vadakara in Kerala’s Kozhikode district.
According to the police, the bodies of the men, identified as Manoj and Joel, were discovered on Monday evening parked along a road in Vadakara Town’s Karimapanapalam area.
Local residents called in the authorities after they realised the caravan was immobile and parked at the spot since Sunday night.
According to the police, one body was found near the front door, while the other was found in the rear berth.
The police said the caravan is part of a fleet belonging to a Malappuram-based business group. The van was reportedly on its way back to Malappuram after dropping off a wedding party in Kannur.
The police said that a forensic team examined the vehicle, with fingerprint experts and the dog squad also involved.
“No suspicious evidence has been found so far, and further details can only be provided after the post-mortem procedures,” a senior police officer who inspected the site told the media, adding that the investigation is underway.
He also clarified there was no confirmation if the deaths were caused by carbon monoxide inhalation.
“There are no eye witnesses. Services from forensic and other scientific expert teams have been sought, and only after their analysis can any conclusions be drawn,” the officer added.
