Nate Anderson, the founder of Hindenburg Research, announced on Wednesday that he has decided to disband the short-selling firm, marking the end of an impactful chapter in financial investigations.

“The plan has been to wind up after we finished the pipeline of ideas we were working on,” Anderson stated in a note published on Wednesday. “That day is today,” he said.

Founded in 2017, Hindenburg Research gained a reputation for exposing fraud, corruption, and mismanagement in some of the world’s largest corporations.

The firm made headlines for its high-profile reports, which often led to regulatory actions and significant financial consequences for its targets.

However, Anderson noted the toll the work has taken, describing it as “rather intense, and at times, all-encompassing.” Reflecting on the firm’s journey, he expressed gratitude for the opportunities it provided and for the impact it had in shining a light on critical issues.
