Details about the new film’s storyline, cast, and crew are yet to be disclosed. It remains unclear whether the film will be a standalone project or a sequel to Vada Chennai. The collaboration was first hinted at by Vetri Maaran in 2022 during the audio launch of Dhanush’s film Thiruchitrambalam.
Meanwhile, Vetri Maaran is also working on Vaadivaasal, a film starring Suriya, which is based on a novel by CS Chellappa. The film, set against the backdrop of Jallikattu, a traditional Tamil Nadu event, will feature music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by R Velraj. Vaadivaasal is produced by Kalaipuli Thanu under the V Creations banner.
Dhanush, who was last seen in the film Raayan, has several projects lined up, including Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, featuring Rashmika Mandanna and Akkineni Nagarjuna, as well as Idly Kadai with Nithya Menen, and an untitled project with director Rajkumar Periasamy.
