The Toyota Innova HyCross has reached the sales milestone of 1,00,000 units in two years. The MPV entered the Indian market in November 2022, bolstering Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s MPV portfolio.

The Innova HyCross price starts at Rs 18.92 lakh and goes up to Rs 30.98 lakh (ex-showroom). The MPV has no direct rival in the Indian market.

As part of the global agreement between Japanese auto giants, Toyota Motor Corporation and Suzuki Motor Corporation, Toyota Kirloskar Motor offers the Innova HyCross to Maruti Suzuki India, which in turn sells it as Invicto in the domestic market.

Built on the Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform with a monocoque frame, the Innova HyCross is powered by a 5th-generation self-charging strong hybrid electric system. Additionally, there is a petrol engine only option.

The strong hybrid unit produces a combined max power of 186PS with the engine torque at 188Nm and the motor torque at 206Nm, and is paired with an e-drive sequential shift. The Innova Hycross mileage for the strong hybrid unit is claimed to be 21.1kmpl. According to Toyota, the hybrid system enables the Innova Hycross to operate 60% of the time in electric mode.

The lower variants employ a 2.0-litre VVTi petrol engine (174PS of max power and 205Nm of peak torque) mated to a CVT automatic. In the entire Innova HyCross line-up, there is no manual transmission option.

The Innova HyCross has features like LED headlamps and taillamps, dual-function LED DRLs, 18-inch chrome alloy wheels, powered tailgate and panoramic sunroof. Inside the cabin, you get front ventilated seats, 8-way powered driver seat with memory function, second-row powered Ottoman seats, front and rear multi-zone automatic climate control, 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch TFT instrument cluster and a nine-speaker JBL system.

So far as safety features are concerned, the MPV gets six airbags, a 360-degree camera and an electronic parking brake with hill hold. With Toyota Safety Sense, the vehicle offers dynamic radar cruise control, auto high beam, lane trace assist, rear cross-traffic alert, blind spot monitor and pre-collision system, among others.
